I am Faculty and Want to Have a Textbook Placed on Reserve. How Do I Do That?

First, the Library appreciates if you donate your reader's copy to the Library before the course begins. Students often ask to begin seeing the textbook the first day as sometimes they do not purchase through our campus online bookstore until after the first class meeting, even though they may have reading related homework by the following class. The form to submit your request is available at: https://libraryguides.chabotcollege.edu/faculty Click on Course Reserves Form and after you submit it, please be sure to submit your copy of the textbook at the circulation desk so we can process it and add it to our catalog as soon as possible. The Library does not have a budget to purchase textbooks, so all our reserve copies come from the faculty member themselves. As always, campus wide there is an encouragement with respect to student equity to pursue OER textbooks or you can pursue through your division to get funding for Zero Degree Textbooks (usually through Program Review requests).
